About Moniker1 Creative
Moniker1 was established in the late spring of 2000, when I decided to pursue naming and copywriting work as a home-based business. As a child of the '60s, I was enamored by the creative advertising campaigns of the era and decided I wanted to be "that idea person". I studied graphic arts, fine art, and mass communications while working my way through school at a campus newspaper. Thus, my career officially began as a designer/art director in the publishing industry. After college, I spent six years as the Art Director for The Riverfront Times, an alternative newspaper.
Eventually, I wormed my way into a real agency, The Hermann Group, where I was hired as a Copywriter. After a few fun agency years, I wanted to learn more about the corporate side, so I moved to Ralston Purina Company (now Nestle Purina Pet Care). At Ralston, I was fortunate enough to work on new brand development for cereals, pet foods, batteries, and those infamous snack cakes; I did quite a bit of naming and brand positioning there as a Sr. Copywriter.
Almost 3 years later, I was recruited back to agency life by Zipatoni (now Rivet), a sales promotion agency that specialized in the alcoholic beverage industry. Again, one of my duties was to come up with product concepts, names, and brand positioning for major beer clients, new age beverages, teas, and spirits...as well as many non-beverage clients. Zipatoni created a packaging design division called Skuzzio. As a Vice President / Sr. Creative Director, I became passionately involved in that group while still developing sales promotion campaigns. I spent close to a decade leading creative teams at Zipatoni, but it was obvious that I excelled at name generation and product ideation, and I wanted to focus on it full-time.
As Moniker1, I continue to be an associate of Skuzzio Design, which is now independently owned, and I freelance my services to various clients, as well as advertising and promotion agencies. How can I help your business grow?
